Whether TikTok or Instagram brought you here, here's how you can find and enjoy the open-air cinema while you're on Gili Trawangan.
Location
As of now, there are two outdoor cinemas on Gili Trawangan. One is in front of the Aston Sunset Beach hotel, and the other is in front of the Royal Regantris hotel. Both are on the west side of Gili Trawangan.

Keep in mind though, these two places could be closed permanently at any time. There used to be one in front of Villa Ombak hotel but it no longer exists.
If you can't find these two, just take a bike ride along this street and I promise you'll come across at least one.
Which one to choose?
Both offer a fantastic experience, and they show the same movies, but not at the same schedule, of course.
If you enjoy watching movies in a darker setting, Aston Sunset Beach hotel is the place to be. However, if you prefer some ambient lighting, Royal Regantris is the spot for you.
I'll let the pictures below help you decide which one to choose.

I personally prefer Royal Regantris because it's easier on my eyes, and the sound isn't too loud. I love the overall vibe there!
You can also decide which one to visit based on the movie that's playing. Like when I'm in the mood to cry, I go to the one playing Titanic.
Time & schedule
Good news for you – they show movies every single night, and both start at the same time too. There are two movies shown every night, and here's the schedule:
- First movie: 7:30 pm
- Second movie: 9:00 pm
As for the movies, there's no online info about what's playing each night, so you'll have to go check it out yourself before they start.

Entrance fee
Both are essentially like cafes, so there is nothing required to enter the cinema. No, you don't need to book anything, just go there, find an empty chair, and order something.
You don't need to be a hotel guest either, everyone can enter.
FAQs
I wouldn't say they are entirely family-friendly because people can order beer and get heavily drunk.
Regarding the movie, you should check online to see if the scheduled movie is appropriate for your kids.
There aren't any Indonesian or Balinese movies, all the films shown are from Hollywood.
The scheduled movies are fixed and you cannot request which movie to show.
Sorry kid, but there is no anime.
