I believe you've seen those pictures of people riding horses on the beach during sunset on social media, right?
If you're curious about where to find them and how much they cost, this article will hopefully help. Let's dive into it!
Where to find
Talking about riding horses (not the ones with carts) on their back, you'll be able to find them on the southwest of Gili Trawangan island, it's called STUD. There, you should see stables with many well-taken-care-of horses.
Another place where you can find horses for rent is at the beach in front of Aston Sunset Beach hotel. I don't know what they call themselves, but let's just call them Unicorns. They are usually there during sunset.
To ride a horse from STUD, you need to contact them through WhatsApp or check their availability online. You can do so by clicking the button below.
If you want to ride horses from the Unicorn, you just need to find them during sunset.
Horseback riding price
These two businesses offer the same service, but there are of course some differences. These distinctions lie in professionalism, time, and price.
STUD has been around for 20 years and has earned a good reputation for taking excellent care of their horses.
On the other hand, the Unicorns are a group of young individuals offering tourists with short horse rides.
- STUD: IDR 775,000 for an hour
- Unicorns: IDR 150,000 for 10 minutes
Riding route
For STUD, they'll take you back and forth along the west coast of Gili Trawangan. You can choose between the beach or the street – though they usually default to the street.
If you're feeling more adventurous, you can even ask them to circle the whole island instead of sticking to the west side.
The cool thing about STUD is that they'll even swing by your hotel to pick you up with the horse you're gonna ride.
The Unicorns are a bit different. Because they've got limited time, they'll only let you ride the horse on the beach. They're mainly in it for those Insta-worthy pictures.
